Let this hand forged bowl speak for itself as a sculptural piece on its own or let it shine as a candle bowl. Interesting shadows are cast onto surrounding surfaces - candlelight dances through the irregular holes in the steel. Each bowl is slightly different, embracing wabi-sabi, the Japanese aesthetic that celebrates imperfection.
Makes a unique 6th anniversary gift (iron anniversary), 11th anniversary gift (steel anniversary), wedding gift or housewarming gift. Or treat yourself to a a special heirloom piece for your home!
These bowls are heated in the forge and hammered into shape on the anvil by Ruben Irons, Artist Blacksmith. Unique marks of character speak to the ancient craft of blacksmithing and the subtleties of the particular piece of mild steel. The bowl has a raw beeswax finish to preserve the industrial steel grey color.
